In the fight to save lives, washing hands with soap takes centre stage Today 15th October 2012 marks the 5th anniversary of Global Handwashing Day! The aim is to increase awareness and understanding about the importance of handwashing with soap as an effective and affordable way to prevent diseases. Around the world, children, teachers, parents, celebrities, and government officials plan to mobilize and motivate millions to lather up in order to reduce lifethreatening diseases, such as diarrhoeal and acute respiratory infections.

| The Community Water and Sanitation Agency (CWSA) held its 2011 Annual Review Conference from 23rd to 27th April, 2012, at the Anita Hotel, Ejisu, Ashanti Region. The conference focused on a core function of the Agency which is ensuring that services are provided in a sustainable manner and there is a continuous mechanism to monitor services provided in the Rural Water and Sanitation Sub-sector. To this end, the Agency has adopted the Service Delivery Approach. The theme for the conference was “TRACKING FUNCTIONALITY OF WASH FACILITIES: A KEY TO SUSTAINABLE SERVICES.” |
